This thing has been subject to a ton of rain, driving through random neighborhoods, and traffic. Lots of traffic. They aren’t easy miles. I’m driving it like my old RAV4, but I park away from others and don’t kick the doors closed.

No wrenching. I’ve got an Advanced Auto Parts a couple miles away and a mechanic neighbor for that (the guy who put on my front plate).

I received a reference from a fellow Oppo for a tint guy, but the tint guy hasn’t been communicating much. He just said he couldn’t do yesterday and that’s all. Now, I won’t have a chance to get tint until next Thursday.

No questions from me - just wanted to chime in and say it’s the only new car that has tempted me to trad-in my MK6 TDI sportwagen. I love it in that blue too!

I actually thought about that. Tint is my first priority though, then that or an in-car WiFi hotspot so my Apple Maps navigation will always work.

Thank you! They’re incredibly rare in the southeast. Only 69 new ones within 500 miles (metro Atlanta), but over 1,000 nationwide. However, they’re a great deal compared to sticker.

Yeah, I mean with any modern car my general rules of break in are: no sustained holds at high rpm... but wring it out a half dozen times or so over the course of the first few thousand miles.

I’ve never been a tint guy until my wife’s forester because the sun just BEAMS on ya in that car. We considered slightly tinting the windshield. We didn’t but we did tint the other windows with the fancy 3m stuff. I slightly darker with mine.

Jim Ellis bundled tint for $399 into the Alltracks they sold, but it was going to be a pain to transfer this Alltrack over. So I said fine, I’m going 50 miles to Stone Mountain,

I feel like I should know where that is but I can’t quite place it. Not many Dollar Trees used to be a Rite Aid but once again I can’t quite remember where it is. Fantastic color though. Glad you are enjoying it.

We really should meet up some time. I think you said you are doing deliveries too. I’ve tended to stick around the square area because that’s where the good tippers live but south Cobb can get some good orders too from the expensive town homes.

I kind of wanted to make a post devoted to that, but I saw that these were great deals and unique, looked at them, and realized they were cool cars. I could’ve gotten a loaded Civic at sticker for the same price, but would it be the same? No.

As y’all know, this was a very long-term car search that spanned many horizons, with a 2016-2018 Blazing Blue Pearl Toyota Tacoma Limited 4x4 being one of the top contenders.

Almost $7,000 off, 0% financing, and no payments for four months, PLUS the perks of a brand new car (free maintenance, long warranty) were hard to beat.

Funny how the sliver caps look with different colors. They look great on his, but I hated them on mine (silver on grey) so I bought body matching ones off some dude for a hundie spot!

I bought the Alltrack last Thursday. It’s a new 2019 SE with the Driver Assistance and Appearance Package. My RAV4 was sold to CarMax for $6,500. This was a much better offer than April and it’s a reasonable offer considering the car’s CarFax. Everyone predicted a used car crash, but as it seems, Georgia seems to be different than blue states.

And I’m great! April was better for me than 99% of the population but kind of boring because I was finishing up school. Plenty of general places were still closed, but I tried to buy the Alltrack out of boredom haha. Parents wouldn’t let me then.

Now, stuff is open, I graduated college, I’ve got a job with a car dealership, I DD, and I have a new car! The problems in my life and the world around me are job related instead of coronavirus nonsense. That’s why going to places like here (or reading my rock climbing gym’s phases reopening) and still seeing people scared about social distancing is like “really y’all, we moved past that a couple weeks ago.” People are still careful, of course, but to see the world blossoming again while my life is getting going makes me feel even better.

Congrats on the new VW. I wanted to go that route but couldn't find one in the DMV with the light package at a price I was willing to pay. Ended up with the GLI. Also have to love the fact all 2019s come with the 6yr/72k warranty

Manual I’m assuming? The DSG tune increases the line pressure enough to where wear isn’t an issue.

Yes. Just a personal preference but feel 4 bangers need a manual to be fun. I'd like to go full stage 1 but the '+' lasts as long as your factory warranty. Being that I have a 2019 it has the 6yr/72k warranty and don't want to ruin that as of yet. I'd I jump for the full stage 1 want to make sure I have a new clutch money on standby.

Why do you say tint is first priority? Reason I ask is that even though I really want the APR+ as well for my Sportwagen, I think tint is a must as well. My car gets really hot and it’s not even hot out yet.

You’ve put more miles on your car than I have and I bought mine on 4/14. Then again, the furthest I go from home since quarantine is about 4 miles away. Lol

Fair. I do wish I had the manual about 50% of the time I drive.

I’m also lucky in that my VW dealer owner races Golfs, so they’re extremely lenient on warranty repairs if you know who to talk to at the service counter.

That said, the + tune with the warranty is what, 10 or 20 hp down? I bet I would be hard pressed to tell the difference between that, and the more powerful tune from the driver’s seat.

A lot more stuff stayed open or is open again than in other places, and dealerships (where I work) are in the former category. I also do food delivery.

Tint is just the first “modification” that I’d like to do.

Ouch - I bought mine right after they released the emissions fix for them. So they were just showing up for sale on lots. Found one in not necessarily the perfect color (black) but 6 speed with the large sunroof and light leather. I love it.

almost exactly the 90 minutes they said it would, haha. Before they start the flash you get an email from APR with a copy of the warranty and a link to approve the flash. You click the link, they do the flash, you go. They were fairly busy, I’d imagine it could have been faster. Most dealers won’t flash on Saturdays because APR isn’t open.
